Empowering African Music Rights Holders

At Spaza Insights, we believe every play deserves recognition and every creator deserves compensation. Our mission is to bring transparency, accuracy, and efficiency to music rights management across Africa.

The African music industry is experiencing unprecedented growth, with Sub-Saharan Africa recording music revenues reaching $110 million in 2024—a remarkable 22.6% growth rate that signals the continent's emergence as a major force in global music. Yet, many rights holders continue to lose significant revenue due to inadequate monitoring of broadcast airplay.

We built Spaza Insights to address this gap. Our platform combines cutting-edge audio fingerprinting technology with deep expertise in African broadcasting to provide comprehensive, accurate, and reliable music monitoring services.

Our Story

Born from African Music Industry Needs

Spaza Insights was founded by a team with deep roots in the African music industry. Having witnessed firsthand the challenges that artists, labels, and publishers face in tracking broadcast airplay across the continent, we set out to build a solution that truly understands African market dynamics.

Radio remains the dominant medium for music discovery and consumption in Africa, with millions of listeners tuning in daily across thousands of stations broadcasting in dozens of languages. Yet, unlike mature markets where monitoring infrastructure is well-established, Africa has historically lacked comprehensive, technology-driven solutions for tracking music airplay.

Our founders recognized this gap and assembled a team of audio recognition experts, music industry professionals, and African market specialists to build Spaza Insights from the ground up—technology designed specifically for Africa's unique broadcasting landscape.
