How do I create an account?

Creating an account is easy. Click the "Start Free Trial" button on our homepage or pricing page. You'll need to provide your name, email address, and create a password. You can also sign up using your Google or LinkedIn account for faster access.

What happens during the free trial?

During your 14-day free trial, you have full access to all features of your selected plan. No credit card is required to start. At the end of the trial, you can choose to subscribe to continue using the service or your account will convert to a limited free tier.

How do I add songs for monitoring?

Once logged in, navigate to "My Music" in the dashboard. Click "Add Track" and enter the song title, artist name, and optionally upload a reference audio file. Our system will create a digital fingerprint for accurate detection. You can add individual tracks or import bulk metadata.

How long does it take to start detecting plays?

Once you've added your songs and we've created the audio fingerprint, monitoring begins immediately. You should start seeing detections within 24-48 hours as our system scans monitored stations. Some stations may take longer depending on their broadcast schedule.

What platforms can I access Spaza Insights on?

Spaza Insights is accessible via web browser on desktop and mobile devices. We also offer native mobile apps for iOS and Android that provide the same functionality plus push notifications. The web platform works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

Can I invite team members to my account?

Yes! Professional and Enterprise plans include team functionality. Go to Settings > Team Members and invite colleagues via email. You can assign different roles (Admin, Editor, Viewer) with appropriate permissions for each team member.

Do I need to install any hardware?

No hardware installation is required. Spaza Insights operates entirely through cloud-based technology. We have our own monitoring infrastructure that captures broadcasts directly from radio and TV stations. You only need internet access to view your dashboard and reports.

What is audio fingerprinting?

Audio fingerprinting is our proprietary technology that creates a unique digital signature for each recording. This signature can identify your music even when broadcast under different conditions, with background noise, or in different audio qualities. It's the technology that enables accurate detection across all monitored stations.

Account & Billing

How do I update my billing information?

Log in to your account and navigate to Settings > Billing. Click "Update Payment Method" to enter new card details or change your billing address. Changes take effect immediately for the next billing cycle.

Can I change my subscription plan?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from Settings > Subscription. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, and bank transfers for annual Enterprise plans. For African clients, we also accept mobile money payments in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel, go to Settings > Subscription and click "Cancel Subscription." Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial periods. You can export your data before cancellation.

Where can I find my invoices?

All invoices are available in Settings > Billing > Invoice History. You can download PDF versions for each billing period. Invoices are also automatically sent to your registered email address.

Can I get a refund?

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for all new subscriptions. If you're not satisfied within the first 30 days, contact support for a full refund. After 30 days, all fees are non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion.

How do I reset my password?

On the login page, click "Forgot Password" and enter your email address. You'll receive a link to reset your password within a few minutes. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder or contact support.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account, contact support. Note that deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be deleted within 30 days of the request. If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled without refund.

Monitoring

What radio stations do you monitor?

We monitor 50+ radio stations across Africa, including major markets in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, and more. Our coverage includes national, regional, and community stations. See our coverage page for the full list.

Do you monitor TV music shows?

Yes! Professional and Enterprise plans include TV monitoring. We track 30+ TV music shows across African television, including music video programs, entertainment shows, and dedicated music channels. TV monitoring requires the Professional plan or higher.

What languages can you detect?

Our technology is trained to recognize music in 40+ African languages and dialects, including English, French, Swahili, Arabic, Portuguese, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Zulu, Xhosa, and many more. Coverage is continuously expanding based on market demand.

How accurate is the detection?

Our audio fingerprinting technology achieves 98%+ accuracy under normal broadcast conditions. Accuracy may be affected by very poor audio quality, significant audio processing, or extremely short plays. We continuously improve our algorithms based on feedback.

Can I request monitoring of specific stations?

Yes! Enterprise customers can request monitoring of specific stations not currently in our database. Professional plan users can submit requests through support. We'll evaluate feasibility and provide pricing for custom coverage.

How often is monitoring data updated?

Monitoring runs 24/7 across all covered stations. Detection data appears in your dashboard within minutes of a broadcast. You can refresh your dashboard anytime to see the latest detections. Historical data is available for the full duration of your subscription.

What happens if a station is offline?

Our system automatically detects when stations go offline and resumes monitoring when they return. Brief outages (less than 1 hour) may result in undetected plays. For extended outages, we cannot guarantee complete coverage during that period.

Can I distinguish between different versions of a song?

Yes, our fingerprinting technology can distinguish between different versions, remixes, and live recordings of the same song. When adding tracks, you can specify the exact version to ensure accurate attribution. This is important for proper royalty distribution.

Reports & Analytics

What reports are available?

We offer a variety of reports including: Detections Summary, Airplay by Station, Geographic Distribution, Time-of-Day Analysis, Artist Performance, Comparative Reports, and Royalty Documentation. Reports can be viewed online or exported as PDF, CSV, or Excel.

How do I export my data?

Go to the Analytics section and select the data you want to export. Click the "Export" button and choose your format (CSV, Excel, PDF). You can export individual reports or bulk export all your historical data. API users can access data programmatically.

How far back does historical data go?

Historical data is available from the date you started your subscription. You can access up to 7 years of detection data through your dashboard. If you need data from before your subscription, contact support to discuss options.

Can I schedule automatic reports?

Yes! Professional and Enterprise plans support scheduled reports. Go to Settings > Scheduled Reports to configure daily, weekly, or monthly reports to be automatically generated and sent to your email. You can customize the report format and content.

How do I use monitoring data for royalty claims?

Our Royalty Documentation feature generates audit-ready reports suitable for submission to collecting societies. Reports include timestamps, station details, and verification codes. Check with your local society for their specific documentation requirements.

What is the geographic mapping feature?

Our geographic maps show where your music is being played across Africa, highlighting regional preferences and market penetration. This helps you identify emerging markets, plan tours, and understand your true geographic reach.

How do notifications work?

You can receive notifications via: Push notifications (mobile app), WhatsApp messages, Email summaries, and SMS (Enterprise plan). Configure your notification preferences in Settings > Notifications. You can set thresholds to avoid notification overload.

Can I compare my performance to other artists?

Professional and Enterprise plans include competitive analysis features. You can compare your airplay performance against other artists in your genre or market. This data is aggregated and anonymized to protect individual artist information.
